Point it at one of your own WordPress guides, any RSS feed or article URL, a bare topic prompt, or a script you have already written.
The script writer needs no API key and no account. If you would rather have an AI polish pass, you can supply your own Anthropic or OpenAI key, and if you do not, nothing is sent anywhere.
Three voices are available: the free Edge neural voice, eSpeak NG as a fully offline fallback, and ElevenLabs if you have a key of your own. Captions come from real word-level timings, not guesswork, and burn in as Bold Highlight, Minimal or Classic Subtitle.
Backgrounds can be the article's own screenshots panned slowly full-bleed, procedural stills, genuinely animated loops rendered frame by frame, or your own video clips. Nothing is AI-generated imagery.
On first run ShortGeek asks for your name, handle and logo letters, because it puts them on the end card of every video. Your videos go out as you.
No account, no sign-up, no telemetry, no watermark and no export limit. It never uploads your videos and never posts on your behalf. Python and ffmpeg are inside the installer, so there is nothing to install first.
